IHOD Brand Re-Design: Process Board

With every brand design, there has to be the starting point of inspiration. A spark or strand of ideas that the designer or brand client connects with. I wanted to share with you all, a sneak peek at my own personal inspiration color board that started the re-branding process of IHOD:) I will always be a lover of bold color, but since my posts are already so heavily saturated with color, I decided it was time to scale back in the logo colors. I have four interchangeable colors that will be used throughout the site,  but the logo is black and white!

Can't wait to reveal the look and share more of the steps I took in the re-branding process as well as why I am switching to wordpress! Stay tuned:)

With Easter came little signs of new life surrounding us.
Its a sunny warm day in Atlanta, the birds are chirping, and the trees blossomed in our neighborhood. I think there is a reason for the seasons....anyone else almost lose it in March?? ;) How was your Easter? I shared a few snapshot recaps on instagram. Early sunrise Mass, a pig roast, and sugar meltdowns were highlights;) My family arrives today from St. Louis so we are anxiously awaiting their arrival.

I finished designing the Fall Issue of RADIANT magazine, and really enjoyed doing this issue's House to Home spread. These are some fantastic items of color to add to a room without too big of a commitment:) And I kind of have home goods on the brain since I spent all day Saturday hunting down rugs, making curtains, and thrifting:)

We finished up the Spring Issue of Radiant Magazine which launched online this week!  I enjoy designing every issue because it is loaded with incredible content and inspirational contributors...I am always learning something new. There is quite enough For instance, this issue features Bethany Hamilton (the movie Soul Surfer is based off of), Jennifer Miller on bioethics, Reality check on Happily Ever After, etc. etc.  I feel blessed that part of my job is being able to do something positive for young women today. There is enough negative and depressing media out there to go around!

I focused the Style Watch spread this issue on Wedding Wear since wedding season has begun!

Radiant Holiday Issue Cover + Giveaway Winner

So happy with the way the cover turned out for the newly released Holiday Issue of Radiant Magazine (A Catholic Magazine for young women). We LOVED working with Shabby Apple on finding the perfect cover shot. Isn't she Radiant?? ;) Will be sharing soon the fashion spread featuring some fabulous blogger fashionistas! I am so blessed to work with one of my dear friends on this magazine. Every issue is a creative adventure for me:)

I was always fascinated with product packaging when I studied Graphic Design. It really is an art form. These are two examples I was crazy about! Brilliant, right?!

Graphic Design Heaven: Pugly Pixel

New Look Reveal + Gulf Shore Support

Thank you thank you thank you to all those who helped vote on the new header! It was pretty much a dead tie between #2 and #3! So, I have incorporated both into the new brand scheme! Also, stay tuned for a new website launch! Lots of fun changes...and the bolder fun colors seem to match my style much better! You can grab the new buttons here.

Also, on a totally different topic....last week I had a reader comment the following:

"I have been reading your blog now for quite some time and really like it. I don't know if it's your style or not , but do you think you could do a post on the oil spill in the gulf? I love your thoughts and opinions, and would love to see your comments on this tragedy." 

I don't consider myself well versed enough to discuss politics here, but I did want to address your comment! think we have all been feeling a little disgusted with the situation on the Gulf... This is a problem I wish would go away considering there are so many important issues being put on hold because of it. Soooooo,Thank you dear reader who make me stop and do some research as to how we can help this situation!! I don't know how I missed this, but Flapperdoodle (who I have featured before) started a shop where all the items are donated to sell and 100%  of the proceeds are being given to OxFam America and National Wildlife Association. You can read the details here! I am hoping this is a small way I can help!

Alli is such a lovely person and her blog is full of craftiness and inspiration...Take a look!

A friend of mine asked me to help her start a blog for a non-profit organization called Birthday Cakes 4 Free. There are chapters nationwide. I was so happy to be able to help this cause in a small way. Today is my baby boy's first birthday. Definately bittersweet for me... I know they say it goes by fast , but I still want to defy time and make each day last a year. Last night, Gabriel woke up from a bad dream crying so hard, so I ran in there to comfort him. As he laid his head against my chest holding his blankie, I couldn't prevent the tears from falling.... I wanted the moment to last forever. I thank God for the opportunity to be a mother, and I look forward to having more children:) Motherhood isn't always easy, but I have never experienced a greater love and joy in my life (next to marriage). It is a gift that I don't take for granted...

Inspiration: Radiant Magazine

I hope you had a wonderful Easter Weekend! The break was just what I needed. I feel so refreshed and renewed....a little like the girl in this image;) I design a magazine called RADIANT, which is geared for Christian and Catholic women. My superstar friend is the publisher. She does an incredible job bringing together inspiration and information. I feel blessed to be a part of it.
