Pattern Play: Monochromatic Mixing

Yellows: 1, 2, 3
Grey Blues: 1, 2, 3
Black and Whites: 1, 2, 3

As you can tell by my recent outfit posts, I love to mix patterns;) This carries over in the home as well. I am currently piecing together our living room and bedroom by mix matching monochromatic pattern pieces. I was excited to discover allmodern.com had pattern options galore in some of my favorite designers as well. We have a few Dwell Studio pieces to start with (ie: the striped throw and rug above), and I can't wait to complete the rooms. It takes patience...one piece at a time:)

When it comes to your house, its all about making it feel like a home, right? As with fashion, style is objective these days. You can mix patterns in so many ways. I throw in some solid pieces here and there for balance but I am always drawn first to pattern and color.

What about you? What is your pattern play method?

P.S. The winner is announced for the Angel Wings Accessory Giveaway here!

*This is a sponsored post which is 100% my own opinion

Color Files: Neon Pink

Happy Weekend! Sharing today some of the neon pink faves I have found across the web! I used to NEVER wear pink, but in the last few years, certain hues have grown on me, and this is one of them:)

This is the perfect example of how to style neon pink. All good things should be in moderation! ;)
I will be back in full swing next week with tons of fun posts including a giveaway, and my FIRST EVER outfit post! GASP! :D

5.20.2011

Color File: Shades of Jade

My favorite shade of green is Jade. Had to round up some faves I have spotted lately.....

1. Topshop 2. Smythson via Pinterest 3. Nico Necklaces 4. Old Navy
5. Hunters (similar) 6. Max and Chloe 7. J. Crew

Inspired by.....

I miss the timeless style and classic beauty that inspired this photo. Women knew how to dress and Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn were the style icons you looked up to. I tend to think fashion peaked in their era. It seems a lot LESS fabric is worn now a days if you know what I mean.

I will be donning some 1920's wear this weekend for a murder mystery surprise. Will make sure a share the photo on the fan page ;) Happy Weekend!

4.29.2011

Color Files: Soft Pink + Grey

This is a color file I recently did as a guest post for Sydney of The Daybook while she was on vacay. Its in her current favorite colors, soft pink and grey. The post went up the day I went into labor so just now sharing it:) Just a heads up, some of these items are budget friendly and a few are wayyy overpriced....just more of style inspiration board for you more than anything:) Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

P.S. I guess voting was extended until May 5th! So I guess I will still be asking for votes until then! Vote for IHOD if you feel so inclined! :)

Color Files: Color Blocking in bold and bright.

Look 1: Dress, Bangle, Ring, Tote

If you haven't noticed yet, I kind of love bright and bold colors:D So, the color blocking trend is right up my alley;) These were a few favorite dresses I came across this week that kind of remind me of bubblicious gum. You just want to chew on it...hmmm. Hope you enjoy!

I made it through a week of long anxious nights! My due date is Monday so we shall see what happens over the weekend:) You all are so sweet for checking in on me. I look forward to being able to share the news! Until then, I am going to be catching up on sleep and rest (since that will be hard to come by once the baby gets here) and enjoying my family. Have a fantastic weekend!

Raise your hand if....
Your favorite crayon in grade school was a neon color!....Yep, that would be me. To be perfectly correct, "Shocking Pink" was my favorite crayon in first grade. Thus, I am happy to see the neons hit the mainstream lately. Its fun! I love it even more paired with neutrals and corals:)

Color File: Honeysuckle

This color was Pantone's color choice of 2011:) I am not one to wear a lot of pink but I love elements of it worked into a wardrobe, or a good pink nail polish. This is such a fun color to see on the runway this year! What about you? Are you a pink girl?

P.S. Don't forget to enter to win the amazing Sienna Handbag from Mimi Boutique!

Color File: Coral Rose

I am always inspired by the Pantone Color Report. I absolutely love the spring palate, Coral Rose being one of them. I am incorporating some of the colors into my Spring line. Isn't this a fun shade?

I am really so honored to be featured over on Megan's blog, Lilac Saloon, as the featured blogger this month. She really is the sweetest. I am sharing my top 5 things I am loving, guilty pleasures, and more here!

10.01.2010

Color File: Hints of Crimson

I really love neutrals with pops of color. So, when I saw this spread on J.Crew, I swooned (as I usually do when visiting J.Crew). A subtle does of crimson is all you need to take your outfit up a notch.

We are blessed with a perfect weather weekend to bring in the first weekend of October! Happy Friday!
