When I was a girl, we used to make friendship bracelets....it was serious. Requesting colors and styles, and trying new designs. This was part of our endless days of summer and I can still remember how to make them. So seeing this bracelet trend sweep the blogosphere, is quite fun to me. Makes me want to go out and buy a bunch of bright colored string. But being realistic, I don't have time to make these anymore, so for now, I will admire them in photos:)
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
The 1000 Celebration continues next week along with a special guest on Monday so stay tuned! :)

the 10 year old I tutor and I are making friendship bracelets now! :)
i JUST got one of those in the mail from Sarah of Fairy Tales are True!! I LOVE it.
summer is ALL ABOUT FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS. my own wrist is loaded by the end of summer. sadly, i am not much of a bracelet maker myself, but i am always sending in my requests. i can only make the simple ones, but my friends and i spend hours at a time making them. i love them! oh, the taste of summer!

I used to spend HOURS making friendship bracelets, and you know what, I'm going to put it on my Summer To Do List to give to all my wonderful friends!! Xx
Not sure how I feel about all these friendship bracelets creeping up lately...Seems like another childish fad like crazy bands.
Wait. I know exactly how I feel about them. FAD. Please. Go. Away. LOLOL. At least some people are making them with chains. I can deal with that.
The color, though, I will agree with you on--color is welcome!

The only jewelry I knew of as a kid was from Claires. The only thing I learned how to make as a kid was a mess, wish I had a crafty mom or friend to show me how to make these!

Wow, I love these...the bright colors, patterns, totally awesome. :)
I love love these and they bring so many memories for me as well. I remember the importance of fastening them for each other. We even had special knots that meant things.. So gorgeous. Thanks for bringing back memories.
