Thanks for being here Morgan!

Meet Virginia Design is a hodgepodge of: personal style, design, and everyday happenings in my life.

Since Anna is doing all sorts of celebrating right now with the new little one and all, she asked me to post on a "Celebration" of my choosing. Well since Rainbow Brite is my style icon, naturally I chose to celebrate:
Color is, and can be one of your best accessories Friends! Here are just a few examples of how I wear and celebrate color on a daily basis:

{#3, #4}

See it really isn't that hard....Right? Ok maybe it is slightly difficult to break the basic instinct of having to match everything, just try and make baby steps for instance don't match you belt and your shoes. Live a little on the wild colorful side! It really can be super fun, and will bring a smile to your face and those around you!

Thanks so much again Anna, and to you guys for letting me post for you today. I had a complete blast and look forward to meeting some new bloggy friends! Don't be a stranger, now ya hear ;)?! Love, love.

ps: If you have a birthday in April, stop by we are having a little party!

A Celebration of Life: Gratitude with guest Brandi of NYAO

Readers, please welcome Brandi from Not Your Average Ordinary, one of my very favorite people in the blogosphere! She is such an inspiration to follow, and I am so grateful to her for being a guest here! She has graciously written this post while I am away on baby break to continuing the celebration of life week!

The celebration of life begins with your first thought in the morning, an abundance of gratitude that no single sentence could contain, gratitude for all the wonderful things in your life.

I’ve no doubt that for many mothers, the first thing they hear in the morning is a child’s cry or a voice that has found its way into your room, because you are the most comforting thing in the world. You can forget to take that moment of gratitude, especially when all you want are those few extra minutes of sleep.

The celebration happens throughout the day, whether you’re spinning in a field drenched in sunlight…or curled up indoors with a book, watching the rain smear the colors outside and shower the world with diamonds, if briefly.
All you have to do is keep your eyes open, laugh through the hard times, be thankful, and find your ways to turn your misfortunes into opportunities. It’s not always easy to do, but let’s face it: there isn’t a single party or celebration that goes the way you expect it to go. Very often, it’s better.

Celebration of Life Week: Baby Shower Board by Postcards & Pretties!

Please welcome the lovely Chris, from P & P! If you know her blog, you probably love it as much as I do. If not, hope you check it out! She has such a talent for creating beautiful inspiration boards. When she sent this over to share, I about cried! One of my favorite children's books ever....

Greetings IHOD readers!!
Chris here from Postcards & Pretties and I'm so excited to be here while Anna is away on maternity leave. To celebrate the birth of baby Liesemeyer, I wanted to create a baby shower board inspired by one of my favorite children's book The Tale of Peter Rabbit.  I love the idea of using classic stories such as this one for baby showers, it works so well for both boy or girl.  For this garden celebration have your guest pick their own escort card in "Mr. McGregor's garden" and have them snacking on crudités and other light bites.
{Colors} orange, pale blue, green & yellow

Thank you so much for having me here today, Anna!
