I have gotten a few requests to share how I organize accessories. Here are a few things that have helped keep things in tact and easy to find:) ...

(Scarves from Left to Right: H&M, Reverie Market, Three Bird Nest, J. Crew, Deloom)
I originally made this piece above for necklaces (one of my first DIY's on IHOD!), using a wooden cut from the lumber yard, white paint, and drawer pulls. Since getting a second one, I use this for scarves. This is an easy DIY Scarf or jewelry hanger to attempt yourself!

(Necklaces: H&M, Loren Hope, BMB, Twillypop, Gift, DIY)
I use a larger round trey for statement necklaces. Keeps them from being tangled, and its a nice display of color:) This only works for larger necklaces though. Fine necklaces are hung. It would be so easy for me to keep collecting jewelry but I keep a rule to not become excessive. If I receive a new one, I must give one away (usually to sisters:)). A good practice not to be too materialistic. How do you store your jewelry?
*Giveaway planned for today has been moved to July! A few fun ones coming up!

i should really practice this. i have so much! every time i get a new piece i should start gifting my others.
ReplyDeleteand i need some organization. unfortunately i tried the bowl for necklaces thing, but they all got tangled and when i'm on the run, i ended up going without a statement piece because they were all jumbled :( I'm going to invest in a necklace holder. maybe make my own...
The hooks idea is great for necklaces, all of mine are in a tangled up mess right now.

I always want to make something like this, or buy something I can hang my jewelry and scarves from. But then I think about it, and realise that I don't have anything to hang from it.
ReplyDeleteAnd then I think about it some more, and realise that I don't have any of these things, because I always lose them, because I have nothing to hang on it.
Makes sense? Maybe it's time I get one.
*hang it on, should've been my second last words. I get confused.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you organize! Everything looks clean and colorful :)
ReplyDeleteI always want to be more organized with my things. I have a decent system going now but I can't wait to live in a home where I have more room to REALLY display my goods.
ReplyDeleteScarfs are my favorite! I love how you display them.
ReplyDeleteOh. I love both ways of Organizing, I currently organize my Necklaces on a necklace stand... but I like this idea better.

Currently, my necklaces are organized on a belt hanger and my earrings and bracelets are in bowls. I love that scarf rack...I definitely need something like this! So easy to make, too :) XO brynn
ReplyDeletewhat a gorgeous collection of pretty necklaces... and way to go on organizational skills ;)
ReplyDeleteI always end up hanging them on my poor bronze earring holder because if I put them on a tray things just get thrown on there and I can't see what I actually have to wear.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a great idea, I have so many necklaces I never wear that just sit there. I'd much rather seen family or friends using them then just sitting on my dresser!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great functional and pretty way to display these items! The knobs/hooks are so cute :)
ReplyDeleteThose are great ways to organize jewelry! I need a scarf rack pretty badly, mine are folded in baskets - pretty...but when you pull one out, you pull them all out! :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you hang your scarves; so pretty. I keep my large necklaces and bracelets in a silverware tray, and then the smaller stuff is just hung in a jewelry box. I love how the bright beaded necklaces look in a tray; such a pretty decor moment.

i love your rule about giving away a necklace when you get a new one!
ReplyDeleteLove how you keep them organized, and your rule!
ReplyDeleteLove your scarf holder! I definitely need to make something like that :) Your organizing is inspiring.
ReplyDeleteCan't tell you how happy this post makes me ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this! I have so many scarves and necklaces scattered all over the place. These are great ideas!
ReplyDeleteSo many great pieces, loving all the colors, textures, beautiful pieces Anna!
ReplyDeleteI use one of the ceramic egg crates from Anthropologie to store my everyday jewelry. I keep more special pieces in a jewelry box.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness i dont! my jewelry's all over the place in drawers, secret hiding places, on the counter, etc. i'm inspired.
ReplyDeleteI love the jewelry dish idea for statement necklaces! I would never have thought of that, and I've been trying to come up with various ways to store my necklaces.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!

I have been looking for ideas for jewelry organization. I think this would work out great! I have one corner space to work with and I may make a few of those drawer pull hangers (different sizes) for scarves, necklaces etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anna!
Cheers.
Oooooh, I love how you hung and displayed your scarves! I need to make that happen :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of all of my scarves, this is a great display idea :)
