My Katniss Everdeen Moment

I have this really cool little brother named Paul. He is my kids favorite Uncle.
When we were in St. Louis, he wanted to practice his archery so we all piled in the car to see what this was all about. He gave me a lesson, and I must say....
I had my Katniss Everdeen moment.
I think if I had one of these in my backyard it would fast become my stress relief outlet.
It was quite exhilarating.
{My sister Jana (aka Primrose), and her amazing scarf..}
{My beautiful sisters Angela, Jana, and Madeline}
My sisters make everything an adventure. They were climbing trees and causing a scene in the archery fields at Forest Park. It was all very entertaining:) Can't imagine life without them.
Paul was very patient with us. He has such a big heart.

So, speaking of Katniss Everdeen, The Hunger Games movie comes out in 71 days...just an FYI;) I tore through the trilogy last year. Definately the must read of 2011. However, now I am in need of some new must reads! Let me know any books you have read recently that were fantastic. Not just okay.... but FANTASTIC!

Elbow patches are the cutest :) I read this post and then quickly realized 1) I've never held a bow and arrow, and 2) I've not read The Hunger Games. I must be missing out on something here!!

My ears perked up with your title. I am just now reading the books, I am in the middle of the second one. So good! Have you read The History of Love by Nicole Krauss, it's my favorite.

Ahh, that looks so fun! I'm reading Start With Why by Simon Sinek, and it's incredible. It's completely changing my views on business, marketing, relationships and how the world works. Hands down fantastic. Xo, Katie

I would recommend, "Katherine" == the ultimate love story (swoon, swoon) could not put it down and have read it 3 times sice last year. Based loosely on actual historical characters. Also an interesting peak into Catholicism at that time period.

Or the Kristen Lavransdatter trilogy (liked the first and third). Be sure to get the translated version by Tina Nunally. The Swedish author, Sigrid Undset, who wrote this won the Nobel Prize for the series. Am currently reading this author's (Sigrid Undset) "Catherine of Siena" - very gifted writer and great storyteller!

okay, what a gorgeous family you are! archery is pretty tough stuff! we were given lessons in high school, and gosh, you are sure gets sore from when the rod (not sure of the proper terminology) hits it! (aka, I totally didn't have the right technique!).

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!! haha I LOVE that. :) I'm about to dive into a the Murakami book IQ84. It's 1,000+ pages. Can't wait! Other than the Hunger Games, though, I tend to read more memoirs and off beat things. Have you read Tina Fey's book? It was awesome. And I still want to read Tim Gunn's book…oh and Mindy Kaling's book! She's hilarious.

oh oh oh Sloane Crosley - I Was Told There Would Be Cake. umm can you tell I read a lot? ;)

Ahhh how amazing! I was always bummed we never had archery classes at school!

I took an archery class in college and loved it! I have been wanting to go out again and try it. I wish my back yard was big enough to do it in.

I just read the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and surprisingly got really into it. If you're looking for a quick read, it's the way to go!

How gorgeous is your family? how cute is your outfit? answer: very. I still have to read the hunger games (can you believe it...) I'll get on it right away!

Drew {Coral Cafe} said...

These pictures are too sweet of you and your brother and sisters!!
What a bond! and FULL HOUSE ;)

I need to start the Hunger Games!! I've heard nothing but great things about them. I've read all of Emily Giffin's books (Something Borrowed) and they're pretty addicting but not of too much worth since theres cheating, etc. going on :/ ehhh other than that they're easy reads. haha how convincing, right?

oh Anna, seeing you and your family really makes me feel warm inside. it puts a smile on my lips, the kind of quiet, wishing i could have a slice of that sort of smile. you are blessed beyond belief, there's not a more deserving soul either. the sister pack is beautiful and Paul is such a handsome young man. this looks to be quite an interesting day, sure wish i could plant myself there along with you. it's joyous to see from afar! xo ♥
