In our family room, we have a built in wall unit filled with shelves and room for the tv. At first, I was overwhelmed by what to do with them, but it ended up being a great way to place many of our pictures, favorite books, and art. Here are just a few of them....
(A few of my favorite books on this shelf! Audrey Hepburn, A Severe Mercy, The Tipping Point, etc.)
If you look closely on the second bookshelf, you can see the picture of my best friend/sister Maria and I as little girls:)
Gabe and I love finding old used books...especially classics like Robin Hood or Anderson's Fairy Tales. We also have a spiritual reading shelf, photo book shelf, and art and design shelf. It seems that when they are out if front of you, the chances of taking time to read them are increased;)
What are your current favorite reads?
I'll be back tomorrow with an outfit post/apple orchard recap, and the winner of the Maple Boutique Giveaway (Last day to enter!)

ReplyDeletei love that you have a picture with your sister like that in a frame. so cute. our little library is pretty full, and i have some old vintage ones sitting on our fireplace mantle. i like having them out in the open. now that i've had my kindle for almost a year now i haven't purchased many books which is sad. i'm currently reading I Was Told There'd Be Cake by Sloane Crosley.
ReplyDeleteI had a kindle for a while and gave it away. There is just something so very special about a physical book - these shelves are beautiful. The old books makes the whole look.
ReplyDeleteI always looove looking through peoples' bookshelves -- and even gazing over my own shelves. One big reason I refuse to hop on the Kindle/e-reader train. When I moved in with my beau earlier this summer, I "married" our books in order of color! Looking at all the great covers and titles makes me so happy.
ReplyDelete(To answer your question, I read The Hunger Games series over the summer. Yes, it's a teen fiction story. But soooo wonderful and well-written. I can't wait for the first move to come out next year!)

ReplyDeleteI love this. you are so lucky to have built-in shelves! they've always been my favorite feature in a home.
ReplyDeleteYour shelves look lovely and the vintage books really make it!
ReplyDeleteMy bookshelves are seriously my favorite part of my room, I love displaying things that I love on them! Built ins...now that would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteHARRY POTTER.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question. :)
Love the first picture here - the reds and black, so elegant! Books just make a room more personal and comfortable. My read at the moment? "The family" - a novel by Mario Puzo about the Borgia family and the time of the rennaissance. It's breathtaking!
ReplyDeletesuch cute ideas. i love decorating with books.
