Old-Young Hollywood Party - Halloween 2011

So we finally made the decision to be these two lovas...
Holly  Golightly and Paul 'Fred' Varjack -Breakfast At Tiffany's

My normally goofball husband had to wear a serious costume and play a serious role this year. I thanked him for playing along so well. He found the perfect Paul Varjack tweed blazer at Goodwill the morning of the party. He likes it so much he wore it the next day as well;) I had so much fun dressing up as my all time favorite Old Hollywood leading lady (Audrey). And just for the record, the cigs are for costume;)
Out of respect for our lovely guests, I won't post their photos here, except for Katie,
A dear friend who came to visit for the weekend....
They are newlyweds who dressed up as Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn - Project Runway. (He looked just like him with powdered white hair and all!) Although the Married sign wouldn't really apply to Tim and Hiedi;)
Being a procrastinator, I finally made the infamous Breakfast at Tiffany's mask and earplugs the morning of the party. Luckily, Hobby Lobby + my craft room had everything I needed to make it!

Photo props that were illustrated by my friend Lauren Stiebler for Oh Happy Day blog.
Tissue Poms made using this tutorial.
Smores on a stick, muddy buddy chex mix, and cream puffs were dessert appetizers of choice. Recognize the glammed up pumpkin? ;)
You might also recognize the glitter candles in this table setting:)

Again, most of my party decor found at Hobby Lobby. The local thrift store had the tall clear canister, lantern, and mason jars!

We had all kinds of celebrities come to the party;)
It was such a fun time with friends, which is why its fun to throw a party once in a while. It brings everyone together! Happy Halloween!!

P.S. Its the last day to enter this fabulous giveaway!

DIY: Glitter up your Candles!

As you know, I like to glitz-ify things. Such as the pumpkin;) I am getting things together for our Old-Young Hollywood Halloween Party this weekend. Everything is Black and Gold, so I made these for part of the Table Decor...

Supplies:
Round candles (I got mine in Vanilla scented four pack for 2$ at Hobby Lobby)
Glitter Glue
Paint Brush

Steps:
Its as easy as it looks!
Apply 3-4 coats of glitter glue around the surface of the candle. Letting each layer dry before applying a new one. It helps to blot the glitter glue around vs stroking it.

(Supplies and one coat of glitter glue)
(Two coats of glitter glue)
(3 coats of glitter glue)

I am sure you can apply this to any size candle, and any color glitter glue!
I knew I could use these throughout the Holiday Season so it was worth the ten minutes it took! :)

Also, I am guest posting over at Six Twelve Place sharing little things I am loving, What's inspiring me, and what I did to live fearlessly! Head on over and check out Lesley's lovely blog!

Veronica Rose: 6 months

She is proud of her age I guess;)
And also proud of her new trick!
(adorable headband from Much Love, Illy)

Veronica found her feet this month and loves to roll around while holding both!
She also discovered the art of bubble blowing. Lately, she had her eyes on daddy, and if she looks at him a certain way, she knows he will come pick her up and hold her. Trouble. Gabe and I wish she would stay this sweet forever...

2) I told you I wore these boots just about every day. Comfortable is the key.
3) How do you like that stone cold killer look in the last photo?? Ya know, cuz I am so good at smiling in photos and all...

How was your weekend? We headed up to my old stomping grounds in the north Georgia mountains where I finished my last few years of college. The annual Gold Rush festival draws in thousands of people, and occurs around the time of the change of leaves, so the drive up is quite the view! It had been a few years since I've been able to attend since we just moved back tot he area, so it was pretty fantastic getting to see some old friends. God seems to weave people in and out of your life in the coolest way:)
Have a great start to your week!

Old-Young Hollywood Party Invitations

(invites made using this printable disguise kit, Urban Scarlet Tape, and glitter paper confetti)

When my husband and I were in college we loved going to theme parties. Gabe would manage to come up with the craziest get ups and it earned major points for him, because I thought his sense of humor was awesome. He still is able to make me laugh harder than anyone I know:)

Now that we have more space in our new home, we aren't wasting any time with hosting a theme party! Some of our close friends and neighbors are coming dressed as Hollywood characters of past or present:)

Here's a preview of the invites. Will make sure and share more details soon!

Lookbook: Comfy Cardis and Statement Necklaces

When the leaves turn, you know its time to pull out the comfy sweaters and boots:) I have no problem putting on a few cardi's and pairing it with a snazzy statement necklace (I have a weak spot for statement necklaces). It just makes a fun combo.

Open Front Cardi: Francesca's (similar), Yellow Cardi: LOFT,  Necklace: Francesca's
Skinny Belt: F21, Lace Edge Skirt: c/o Maple Boutique, Boots: Carlos Santana

(Veronica's hat - The Sunshine Stitch)

How was your weekend? (Btw, Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadian Readers!!) My hubs has the day off for Columbus day (why thank you Christopher), so I won't be getting much done today;) I'd much rather waste time with him and the kids anyways.  Nothing is more delicious than snuggles with this cuddly little one above. Squishy cheeks!
Happy Monday!
